The small marina at the Stella Maris Resort, lies about 15nm south of the northern end of the island, on the west coast. It offers very good shelter. There are several secure anchorages in the area if great care is taken entering them.
Construction is planned to begin in 2019 on a new marina development here, Port St. George.
Pegged as being the largest marina in the Bahamas with 640 berths, the new development boasts enhanced storm protection for year-round berthing, extensive use of solar power and hydroponics and will offer clearance services. Construction is expected to last four to five years.
