Description:
Lucaya, on the south shore of Grand Bahama Island, east of the industrial area of Freeport, offers extensive marina and shopping facilities, conveniently placed to explore the metropolis on foot or to rent a car to explore the whole island. Previously a mecca of large hotels and a casino, many of these have now closed. Golf and other activities are readily available.
This is a much better place to overnight than in Freeport commercial port, which is not suitable for small yachts. There is a bus to Freeport town which only takes 20 minutes.
