Walker’s Cay - Restrictions

Jul 28, 2023

Description:

This cay lies at the northern end of the Abaco Islands and was a well known fishing resort before suffering extensive hurricane damage. Slowly it has been re-built and the marina re-opened in July 2021 with basic services.

It is a convenient stop before using the northern-most ocean pass onto the Little Bahama Bank and can be used to clear into the Bahamas with pre-arrangement.

Entrance Notes and Cautions:

The best approach is that to the east, between Walkers Cay and Gully Rocks.

The area around Walkers Cay is difficult. The ground consists of hard rock and coral lumps and you can easily run aground. Be careful, keep a good lookout.

Position:

27° 12'N, 078° 25'W
