Online Tonga Cruising Guide updated annually for all of Tonga (Tongatapu, Vava'u, Haapai, Niu's) which is a free download and includes Vava'u anchorage guide, Weather guides, Activities etc.

The Tonga Compendium

A compilation of guidebook references and cruising reports put together by SV Soggy Paws with updates from cruisers who have used it. Lots of good information if planning on cruising Tonga and many other notes for other Pacific cruising areas on the site too.

www.marinetraffic.com: Cafe Tropicana is now hosting an AIS Receiver on behalf on www.marinetraffic.com. Expected range is 40nm to 50nm from Neiafu. Data can be seen on the website free.

The South Pacific Sailing Network

South Pacific Sailing Network
Founded by a group of like-minded tourism and marine industry professionals across the South Pacific islands.  The Network’s aim through promotion and communication is to encourage more yachts to experience these exceptional cruising grounds, strengthen the services available and aid the economies of the island groups. Founding member countries are French Polynesia, Fiji, New Caledonia, Tonga, New Zealand and Panama.

South Minerva Reef

This reef is claimed by the Kingdom of Tonga (albeit disputed by Fiji). This is a popular stop over for yachts en-route from Tonga to Fiji.

Polynesian Voyaging Society

After five years of planning and preparations, the Polynesian Voyaging Society (PVS) began a four-year, 43,000 nautical mile circumnavigation of the Pacific in June 2023 aboard replica ancient voyaging canoes, using traditional wayfinding methods.
