Wallilabou Bay Docking

Anchoring

There is an abundance of boat boys here, wanting to help with handling lines (you will need to secure a stern line ashore to a palm tree). Some cruisers have reported feeling "mobbed" by boat boys at times. Arrive prepared by stowing any unnecessary deck gear and having lines and anchor ready. If you do not wish for help, just be polite but firm.

The restaurant offers water, ice, showers, internet, garbage service and monitors VHF Ch 68.

Yacht Security

There are security concerns in this area for visiting sailors.  Take care if spending the night here and going ashore leaving your boat unattended. In the past, some yachts have experienced thefts when anchored off the old film dock in the north side of the bay and others have been burgled anchored off the Anchorage Hotel and restaurant (and there is a night watchman here).  Take good safety precautions and if possible, leave a watchman on board when going ashore.

The Royal Grenada Police and the Royal St. Vincent and Grenadian Police investigated a serious incident involving a catamaran that was found poorly anchored off the coast of Wallilabou, St Vincent on February 20, 2024, after previously being anchored off Grande Anse in Grenada. A great deal of blood was discovered inside the yacht and unfortunately the husband and wife who were on board the catamaran were never found. Read the News item here.
