Description:
The anchorage at Young Island Cut, with its clear water, is a favourite place for yachts.
Entrance Notes or Cautions:
However, cruisers recommend someone remaining on board if going ashore and a rotational watch during the night, as yachts continue to get boarded here and burgled if left open (latest reports September 2020). See the Piracy & Security reports.
Position: 13° 07’56″N, 61° 12’08″W (anchorage)
Docking
Anchor with care as the current sweeps both ways and the centre of the cut is 65 feet deep. Moorings are available, but stay clear of the sea bed close to Young Island itself.
Call on VHF Channel 68 to inquire about a mooring buoy.
Help can be arranged for most things you need ashore and there are some local craftsmen.
Be sure to agree on the rate before using a taxi.

YachtFlags.com provides high quality courtesy flags that are manufactured in durable Knitted Polyester fabric. Knitted so that the fabric itself does not deteriorate in the constant movement that marine flags are usually exposed to, and polyester so that the flag does not weaken in the strong UV-light usually found in the main sailing areas of the world.
