General Info
Description:
Mayreau lies west of the Tobago Cays. It is the smallest (1 1/2 square miles) of the inhabited Grenadine Islands, with a population of about 250 people.
Cruiser Highlights:
The island is rimmed by magnificent sweeping white sandy beaches. The café lined colourful village street leads upwards to the church and a rewarding view of Tobago Cays. There are a small village store and numerous cafes.
Positions:

Docking
Anchorages:
The main anchorage is at Saline Bay, but it can get busy here if a cruise ship is in. Anchor off the beach at the southern end – holding is good.
Moorings were re-installed in Salinne Bay early 2022 by Patrick (Papa san) Forde after a complete inspection and upgrade.
Salt Whistle Bay, further to the north, is a beautiful anchorage with several beach bars and moorings for visiting boats. It is however popular with charter boats, so space is tight. The anchorage is in the northeastern part of the lagoon.
Be sure to double-check the strength of any mooring as failures have been reported in the past. In 2017 the cost of moorings were $65 EC per night or 3 nights for $150 EC.
Security Notes:
Over the years there have been a fair few outboard and dinghy thefts from boats in both bays on Mayreu. Be sure to lift your dinghy at night and secure it and the outboard to the boat at all times. See Security reports for more details.
