Do not touch manchineel trees or stand under them when it’s raining. Their poisonous white sap contains an acid that severely burns skin and their fruit, which resembles small apples, is poisonous. Some manchineel trees are located on the beach near De Reef Restaurant on Bequia and at Richmond Bay on Union Island.
When swimming, be cautious of strong currents and undertow, especially around Trinity Falls, Carriacou, and Mount Wynne.
