Where is Port Elizabeth?

Port Elizabeth (now called Gqeberha) is a large commercial port in Algoa Bay, on the eastern end of South Africa's southern coast. It is an industrial city which covers both banks of the Baakens River. This is a useful stopover port for yachts transiting between the Indian and Atlantic oceans and is located at the perfect rest stop after the arduous Agulhas current. The local sailing community are very welcoming to visiting yachts.
