The official currency of Morocco is the Moroccan dirham (DH) which is abbreviated to (MAD).

Dirham (DH) of 100 centimes.

It is illegal to take DH in or out of the country. It is also difficult to change DH back into foreign currency on departure although it is possible if exchange receipts are kept.

ATM bank machines are widespread throughout Morocco.

International credit cards Visa or MasterCards are accepted almost everywhere.

Currency can be exchanged at the airports, in some hotels, in banks and in city exchange offices that are located in the tourist squares of each city in Morocco.

Many services will accept payment in Euros.
