Yacht delivery Canaries to Mallorca March 2019; our main sail ripped when we were between Safi and Jorf, and decided to motor on to Jorf. 1 hour before arrival we contacted port on CH12, cleared to enter, and were directed where to dock, which is the quay where all the tug boats dock; they are used to yachts coming in that require a short stay for repairs. Customs/immigration/police formalities all straight forward; we had our sail repaired in under 24 hours, arranged by Mustapha from Smarsa Shipping, the local ships chandler; everyone knows him, ask for him if you need anything, he will do his best to sort you out. Diesel can be obtained, but it comes in jerrycans brought by car, and depending who you buy from, the premium can be up to double. We needed a schackle, and unfortunately for us everything was closed as it was Sunday, but it is unlikely we would have found what we required anyway, as many people said that only Casablanca has the type of shops (google: SOREMAR, ESPACE MARINA) that has parts for yachts. The pollution in the port is quite oppressive. The boat was covered in all sorts of soot and particles, and the air makes your skin feel dirty; the shorter you stay, the happier you will be.
