Cozumel - Docking

Jan 19, 2025

Anchorages:

Most vessels anchor in the open roadstead on the west coast between the marina at Puerto de Abrigo and the ferry dock off San Miguel. The bottom is sand over hard coral so it’s advisable to swim down and check your settings.

Note:

In the winter months, anchorage anywhere along the west coast can become untenable when the storm fronts from the north create strong winds and seas from that direction.

Dinghy Docks:

Landing your dinghy on the beach is fine and it may be possible to leave your dingy (with permission) at the dive docks for short periods.

Marinas:

Boats report mooring at Caleta Marina, Puerto de Abrigo and FONATUR Marina although arranging moorage in advance may require the ability to speak Spanish.
