Miri - Marine Supplies

Dec 05, 2018

Marine supplies can be found at the numerous hardware stores in town, or at the commercial centres on the way into town. Costs are reported to be very reasonable.

An important note on importing spare parts into Malaysia generally. Yacht spares are duty-free if for a yacht in transit (i.e. one that will eventually leave the country), but DHL is reported to be better than Fedex at achieving this. It is important that the address includes this "harmonisation code" HR 9800.00.700. Once the package arrives in Malaysia you will have to contact the local DHL office with your ship registration and captain's passport before they can get customs to release the goods.
