Where is Kuantan?

Kuantan is the state capital of Pahang and is located at the entrance of the Kuantan River.  It is one of the main fishing villages on the east coast of Malaysia and is about 90 miles north of Mersing.

Not the prettiest of towns, having many concrete buildings, but friendly and easy to explore on foot. The mosques give the town a more exotic feel and the colonial-style Courthouse and Handicraft Centre add interest to the old town.

White sandy beaches and deep blue sea for a variety of water activities. There is also Turtle Sanctuary, where one gets the opportunity to watch a hatching turtle and get involve in preserving the endangered species.
