Kuala Terengganu - Clearance

Jul 11, 2024

For full details on clearance into and out of Malaysia see Formalities.

Clearance Procedure in Terengganu

The procedure for checking in here is similar to ports of entry on the West Coast, with one major difference.  The Marine Department requires you to fill in Form 491B (1) and email to ppjlmwt@marine.gov.my.  Include information regarding your travel plans including anchorages in marine parks and intended duration.

Once the Marine Department have been notified of your arrival, anchor on the northern side of the breakwater to check in.

Clearance is straightforward, but does now require a taxi out to the airport as there is no Immigration at the port. The airport is 10 km from town and it is a 400 RM round trip taxi ride. The parking assistant at KTCC Shopping centre helps to book "Grab". Taxis are more expensive.

Remember, Immigration do not operate on Fridays, Saturdays and holidays. Open Sunday to Thursday 08:00 to 17:00.

The Customs and Harbour Master are next to each other, in town, near the Sri Malaysia Hotel.
