Las Palmas de Gran Canaria - Transport & Travel

There are many flights from Gran Canaria airport, 20 km from Las Palmas, to all parts of Europe. There are also frequent inter-island flights.  Taxis cost about €30 or you can get there by bus.

Estación de Guaguas (Bus station), Parque San Telmo: The bus station is 2 km south of the marina, on the way to Vegueta, the oldest part of Las Palmas. From there you can reach any place on the island. Direct bus to the airport every half hour (20-30 minutes trip - cost €2.30). (Central Bus Station 0034 928 381110).

Global (Utinsa and Salcai) bus service has routes covering the whole island - +34 928 25 26 30 or 902 38 11 10.

There are ferries from Las Palmas harbor to Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Morro Jable, Puerto del Rosario, and Arrecife. There is also a fast ferry from Agaete to Santa Cruz de Tenerife. You can take the free Fred Olsen bus at Parque Santa Catalina to Agaete.

Bike rental is now available in Las Palmas Marina, at a stall located between the pharmacy and World Cruising Club office. They are open from 9 to 6 Mondays to Sundays.

Free 3 hour bike hire from the Town Council - enquire at Ayuntamiento (Town Council) information center.

Taxis - just flag down a yellow taxi showing a green light on Leon y Castillo, the main road next tot he Muelle Deportivo.

Car rental is available from many well-known international companies at around 40 euro/day.  You can park your hire car free of charge in the harbor area provided you have confirmation from the marina reception that you have paid for a berth.
