The nearby village of Hout Bay contains full shopping facilities with larger supermarkets located within 20 minutes drive. The local Hout Bay shops can be accessed on foot and it is no more than a 10 to 15-minute walk to the Hout Bay shopping centres.
The supermarkets are; Super Spar, Woolworths and Checkers. Super Spar is nearest to the marina and is middle priced.

Per 1-1- 2013, yachts can NOT clear into SA in Hout Baai (or any other secondary port) Author was refused entry into marina before clearing in at Cape Town.
