Noumea - Provisions & Laundry

May 20, 2025

The Noumea Market with its local produce offers a good selection of seafood and vegetables. It is held daily at the Baie de la Moselle. It opens from 5am-11am and is closed the 3rd Monday of the month.

There are also supermarkets and patisseries within walking distance of Port Moselle and a shopping centre next to the yacht club. Most supermarkets are well stocked. It is important to note that the sale of alcohol is prohibited from noon Saturday until 8 am Monday morning.

Provisioning in the islands is limited and it is recommended that you do most of your purchasing in Noumea.

There are several laundry options in Noumea. The marinas (Port Du Sud and Port Brunelet) in Baie De L'Ophelinat have coin laundries. Port Moselle Marina fuel dock will wash and dry laundry for you.

The Youth Hostel located at the top of the hill, 100 meters from the prominent “505” building, has a large commercial washer available for a very reasonable price.
