Anchoring is permitted in certain areas of Petite Rade and Baie de l'Orphelinat. Contact the Port Moselle Port Captain (VHF Ch. 67) for details of where is permitted.
Anchoring in front of the Port Moselle marina is almost impossible as the whole designated anchorage is packed with moorings.
There is a secure dinghy dock at Port Moselle Marina, for which a weekly charge is made including the use of showers and toilets.
There are four marinas here suitable for visiting yachts, three in Baie de l'Orphelinat and one in Port Moselle. Note that stays for visitors are limited. Port Moselle state on their website; Visitors' length of stay is limited to three days during the high cruising season (May 15 to December 15), and six days during low season (the rest of the year).

Just eight kms (five miles) from Noumea is Ilot Maitre. This is a marine reserve, but there are free mooring buoys here. There is a resort ashore which for a fee will let cruisers use some of the facilities.
