Marina

Entrance waypoint: 30°25.2 North, 9°37.0 West

The entrance is rather "hidden", being towards the bathing beach, NOT through the main harbour. Finding the entrance is relatively straightforward during the day, but difficult at night as it does not "open up" until you are adjacent.

Book in advance with the marina via WhatsApp: +212 660412202.

The marina is reportedly now under Hilton Hotel Administration and new facilities are services are under construction.  Sanitation services are basic but clean and usable, even for women.

There is reported to be plenty of space in the marina and security is good. There can be, however, quite a swell here, and marina pontoons are short.

Note, you cannot pay the marina fees with a credit card if the marina office is closed and the machine has been known to be broken. Check the price with the marina staff before getting the cash to pay, as they calculate your stay per day, not per night. The marina makes a good base for visiting nearby cities as outlined in this report.

Anchoring

It may be possible (subject to available space) to anchor off the yacht club in the NE of the Grand Bassin, which welcomes visitors. The dinghy can be left at the yacht club pontoon. Water can be obtained at the same dock, which has sufficient depth at high tide. Unfortunately, the harbour tends to be very dirty and polluted, so many cruisers choose the marina. You must get permission to anchor first from the Port Captain.
