Check into and out of San Blas is now done by VHF Radio (Channel 16) to the Port Captain (most likely in Spanish). Either call on the VHF or visit the Port Captain’s office – a short distance along the road from Pepe’s dinghy landing (turn right).

The US State Department has issued a travel warning for this area: ”
There are recent reports of increased violence and cartel activity in the city of San Blas, Nayarit. Effective immediately, U.S. government personnel are prohibited from travel within a 10km (6 mi) radius of the centre of San Blas until October 1, 2017, at which time the Consulate will reevaluate the security environment. U.S. citizens should consider avoiding San Blas during this period and take security precautions when considering travel to the area.”
The Marina Fonatur is very well made up. Safe tie-ups, nice slips and very nice facility, shower and toilets. To prevent the rage of the mosquitos, bring some mosquito repellent and you´ll be able to sleep even with an open hatch.
