The Manzanillo Airport is located several miles northwest of Manzanillo. It is 40 minutes from Manzanillo. A taxi to Manzanillo is about US$27 (11/01).

International reservations: 1-800-227-7368 (if calling from Mexico or U.S.), 1-800-387-4747 (if calling from Canada). Aerocalifornia has daily flights to Los Angeles, and Alaska Airlines on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. America West Airlines has connecting flights through Phoenix on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Mexicana Airlines has daily flights to Mexico City.

Taxis can be very reasonable, as long as you ask the price BEFORE you get in. You should be able to get almost anywhere in Manzanillo for 35 pesos or less. Make sure you have small change. Taxis will not carry change so they can keep yours. Do not pay in American or Canadian dollars.

Manzanillo has a very simple bus system. Look at the window of the bus. If it says, “El Centro,” or “Jardin,” it’s going to the downtown area. If it says, “Las Hadas,” or “Sierra,” and has a small blue dolphin logo on the front, it is going to the Peninsula de Santiago. “Com. Mex”, “Commercial,” or Com. Mexicana,” take you to the Plaza Manzanillo shopping mall and the Commercial Mexicana supermarket.

Try to have 1 and 2 peso coins for the fare. If you give him 5 pesos, instead of 2, you may not get change. Travelling by bus is a safe and interesting experience. Normally a bus comes by every 10 minutes, in either direction except at siesta time(2-4:30 p.m).

Puerto de Navidad- Marina is overall in good condition and access to the resort is a big plus. The dock water is un-chlorinated and truly not potable, so don’t put it in your tank, even after filtration. One of the ladies from the water taxi desk in Barra will arrange delivery of garrafons (jugs) to your boat. There are only 3 pairs of showers with one not working on a recent visit and another not having hot water. The resort restaurants and bar are quite expensive and mostly not worth the price. The pool restaurant and bar, and Antonio’s with good tequila bar are the best choices. Water taxi is now 30P round trip.

Marina Las Hadas – Now costs P250, Water is not potable, women’s shower closed, cannot use the pool or other hotel facilities, harbour master cannot do check in or check out, the docks are in poor repair, and the security guards are aggressive. Not especially welcoming
    place.

Marina Las Hadas – If you are anchored out the dingy dock rates are 200 pesos per day. You can press them for seven days by paying for five days in advance. They will take credit cards.
