Rubbish Disposal
Cafe Tropicana (Tel: +676 71322 or Mobile +676 8812347 +676 7512347 or VHF 26) now does a full rubbish collection service – donations for rubbish service and all proceeds go towards maintaining the tracks, park, rubbish, and roads to the Mt Talau Reserve. Aluminum, steel, oil, plastic and glass bottles all taken and reused by community groups.
They pay for a few green bins around town for street rubbish – please don’t abuse them.
Alternatively, green bins are for street rubbish ONLY. No dumping on Islands or in town, fines can be issued.
Rubbish can also be disposed of at the small boat marina for US$1 per bag.
