Thailand Weather for Sailors

Thailand has six months of rain during the wet season, three months of dry and cool breezes during the winter and three months of heat during the summer. Thailand's average temperature ranges from 18 to 38° C with a very humid, tropical climate.

  • November to May is the NE monsoon, with more pleasant weather plus better sailing conditions along the sheltered west coast (most ports on this coast are untenable during the SW monsoon).
  • It is cooler from November to February;
  • March to May are the hottest months;
  • June to October is the rainy season and SW monsoon.
