Anchoring in Grand Baie

The channel leading into the bay is at least 3m at high tide.

There is a good anchorage close to the Grand Baie Yacht Club (GBYC) on the north east corner of the bay as you enter. This is useful if wanting to be close to the Yacht Club's free facilities which include showers, restaurant, Wifi plus a fuel and water jetty (see their business listing in Related Businesses below for more details).

Yachts should avoid, however, anchoring directly in front of the Club where there are many small moorings.

Visit the GBYC as soon as you arrive if you wish to use their facilities. The Club has an active racing scene. The nearest SuperU market is 1.1km from the GBYC.

A less rolly anchorage can be found further into the bay.

There are no mooring buoys here.
