Great Harbour - Clearance

Dec 17, 2024

General Clearance Process:

See the main BVI Formalities page for full details on clearing in and out.

Dog Hole Jetty

A new facility was built following Hurricane Irma and opened in 2020. The white wooden building with a blue roof on Dog Hole Jetty in Great Harbor is the ferry terminal housing Customs and Immigration as well as a tourism office. The dock in front of the office can be used for dinghies.

Note: You cannot extend your visa here - for this you would need to go to Road Harbour or Spanish Town. Also, extensions to the Temporary Import Permit cannot be issued here. They are issued at Road Harbour.

All official departments can be contacted on VHF channel 16.

Cruisers report that clearance here is fast and straightforward.
