Anchorages:
Ensenada Honda is very well protected by its reef and is about a mile and a half long. It has several quiet coves with a reasonable depth of water and very good holding. Pilotage is straightforward with a well buoyed channel and clear leading marks.
Boats entering Ensenada Honda (Big Harbor) can proceed to the head and anchor in the sand just west of Cayo Pirata. Holding is good.
A particularly good anchorage is just inside the Western reef at the entrance to Ensenada Honda where the national park authority has laid good free-to-use moorings. These are further from town however than anchoring closer-in.
There is a dinghy dock at the Dinghy Dock Restaurant, and another public dinghy dock just north of there, across the bridge (if you're going by foot). Dinghies can also be left at the town dock which is west of the Dinghy Dock Restaurant (under the bridge). The theft was reported from the town dock in 2018 so be sure to always secure your dinghy and the contents in it.
