Lagos - Docking

May 12, 2022

The marina is a few hundred metres upriver from the harbour entrance and is very sheltered. Access is all-tide.

On arrival, berth on the arrivals pontoon on the starboard side, just before the lifting bridge. This bridge opens on request, (VHF channel 09).  See Marina de Lagos for Marina Reception and bridge operation times.  Note that pedestrians have right of way 10 minutes before the departure of trains from the Lagos train station.

Anchorages

It is possible to anchor NE of the harbour mole in 3 to 5m. This is exposed to easterly and southerly winds and some SW swell.

Alvor - A peaceful anchorage just over 2nm ENE of Lagos.

Source of Local Information

There is a very active visitors/liveaboard group called the Lagos Navigators. They have a website (currently undergoing a revamp) and a Facebook page for cruising and local information.
