Aveiro - Docking

Nov 03, 2021

Anchoring:

The anchorages here are sheltered although currents are strong.

The best anchorage is at Sao Jacinto but there is not much space. The entrance is dredged to 3m and marked by buoys.

See comments with recommendations on where to anchor here.

Marinas:

There is a small Yacht Club called Marina Antiga Lota which is 10 minutes walk from Aveiro town centre. However, it only has one floating pontoon and gets very busy. It's located 8 miles from the river entrance. Be sure to call ahead to confirm there is space before heading up through the canals [+351 234 422142 ]. Costs 20 Euros a night with water and electricity on the pontoon.

There is a small marina at the town of Torreira, 10.5 miles north of the river entrance. This marina, however, is used by very small fishing boats with depths of 1m, so is only suitable for shallow draft yachts. The marina is reported to be very friendly with water, electricity and WiFi at the club house.
