Port Barton - Docking

Sep 01, 2018

This is reported to be a safe place to stay and anchor. The bottom is gently shelving sand with good holding. In the northeast monsoon a swell comes into the bay mainly on the south side, so in these conditions anchor at the north end of the beach to avoid the swell. The dinghy can be left anywhere on the beach.

There are few shoals at the entrance of the bay. Details of waypoints for entering the bay are given in a report by Simon Adam on SY Free Bird. Follow link here: https://www.noonsite.com/Countries/Philippines/a-delightful-month-in-port-barton

Ashore there is fuel, a water hose on the beach, laundry and supplies in the village. Also several restaurants. The Summer House has WiFi.

Good contact is Brian Tennant who runs a lodge and accommodation here.
