Batangas - Clearance

May 27, 2023

Clearance is possible at Batangas Port.

See the Philippines Formalities page for full details.

This port, however, is not ideal for sailing vessels. While officials are friendly, cruisers report that there are agents here that will try to extort a huge fee from you in order to hire a Government barge to allow the Customs Officials to come out to the boat, anchored near the ferry jetty. They may also demand you re-register your boat as Philippino. See Comments for further details (speech bubble icon).

There is no dock here for sailboats.

If coming from the south, the best port of entry for the Philippines is Puerto Princesa on Palawan where fees are sensible. Subic Bay has high fees.
