Oman Facts for Sailors

• A very small number of boats continue to stop at Port Salalah and complain bitterly about the high agent and marina fees. It is not a stopover commonly used for a Red Sea Passage, but sometimes used by yachts to/from Dubai.
• Oman now recognises the benefits to be derived from tourism and many new tourist facilities have been developed in the past several years, mostly around the Muscat area and in the country's interior. Marina facilities are good, but expensive.
• The people are very friendly and hospitable, especially as few yachts call here.
