The central fresh produce market off Farquhar road is open every day and has an excellent supply of local produce. The Market is a couple of blocks from the marina, just through the second (north) underpass. It has fruit and vegetables, meat and fish departments with a large craft area upstairs. Be sure to select your own produce to check for quality. Well worth an hour or two with a camera and your bargaining skills.
There is also a craft market in the Waterfront Complex.
Several supermarkets and “hypermarkets” are located either within walking distance of the marina or by taxi or bus. Prices for most items in the supermarkets are comparable to similar products in Asia or the US.
- Winners, the nearest, through underpass then along President Kennedy Street. It's behind the Air Mauritius building (about 5 minutes walk).
- Carrefour, a taxi raide away in the Riche Terre area of the city.
Duty-Free Goods
Duty-free goods can be delivered to the yacht ahead of departure but Customs might visit the boat and require them to be sealed.
Ensure that any you have a receipt noting both the price actually paid and the quantity for alcohol purchased.
