Home Island - Fuel & LPG
Fuel is not available on Home Island – jerry cans have to be taken over to West Island and then you will need to arrange a water taxi to bring them back. Full jerry cans are not allowed on the ferry. Because the transport of fuel from West Island to the Direction Island anchorage is expensive and logistically problematic, it is strongly recommended that you have sufficient fuel onboard your vessel for your entire journey and do not rely on a resupply at Cocos (Keeling) Islands.

September 2015:
Currently, no quarantine rubbish (i.e.anything not bought in Cocos) is permitted to be disposed of in any of the Cocos islands. Apparently, an incineration facility is planned for the future. Yachts are expected to take their rubbish away with them.
