Majuro is the capital of the Marshall Islands and its industrial hub. The downtown area is spread between Uliga and Delap, which are the locations of all the government offices, the main stores and hotels, and commercial offices. There are two main, very large anchorages. The town is spread out across the island making it a very long walk or an inexpensive taxi ride to get from one side to the other. The majority of the population live here and Kwajalien (Ebeye).
Entrance can be a bit daunting if there is a big swell with waves breaking all over the place, but recent cruiser reports indicate it's not as scary as it may seem. There are "beacons" marking the entrance, however many are missing (see image) and they come in varying shapes and sizes (see 2nd image). These are also not lit, so do not attempt a night entrance.
The lagoon is often full of fishing vessel and cargo ships.

You will find supermarkets, fuel, propane, restaurants, bars, hardware stores, hospital, post office, foreign embassies, and more on the main island. There is a cruiser net every morning at 0730 on VHF Channel 71 where you can ask anything you need to know. The Mieco Beach Yacht Club welcomes cruisers and offers a joining fee that includes social events as well as use of moorings at various islets away from the main town. On Tuesdays there is a cruiser's dinner at a local restaurant.

The first incident reported to Noonsite was in August 2019 when a yacht was boarded at night by an intruder, having left their main hatch open. See related reports for more details.
