Port Vila residents like to call their home the gourmet capital of the South Pacific and after several months cruising in remote locations you will no doubt agree. The diverse ethnic and cultural mix of Vila is reflected in food styles served in over forty restaurants and cafes - French, Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese, Italian, Mexican, Thai, Melanesian and Mediterranean.
A restaurant to recommend (a 15min walk or a 2$ minibus fare from Yachting World Marina) is Le Fare Restaurant/Pizza Hot. Romuald Ledoux, the owner has live coconut carbs, fresh lobsters and excellent Vanuatu beef (Vanuatu beef has always been grassfed).
In 2023, he was planning to re-open Le Peche Mignon, the best pastry shop/ice cream and bakery in Port Vila, just a few hundred meters from Yachting World (just before you get to The Sebel hotel. Chocolate and pastries are made locally by Romuald and his team!
