Provisions:
Tanga is the centre for most of the fresh produce for the country, the quality is excellent and the prices less than half you would expect. Alcohol and tobacco are cheap except for imports and the fresh produce markets are a feast.
Tanga has well-stocked grocery shops, several supermarkets, an excellent dairy (with milk, yoghurt, cream, mozzarella cheese and butter available); a vegetable market with a variety of produce brought down twice a week from the Usambara Mountains.
People are friendly and welcome and it is possible to look around the markets without being pressured to buy. See the Comments section (speech bubble icon) for recent cruiser experiences.
Laundry:
The yacht club has a laundry room for hand washing, or the kitchen girls will take in washing.
