Noro is on the western side of the island of New Georgia, which itself lies in about the middle of the Solomon Islands chain.
The main industry is the tuna cannery, the second-biggest in the Solomons. The town has approx. 5000 inhabitants.
Noro is a recommended port of entry and exit for yachts [see Clearance], as is Taro (Choiseul Island) and Lata (Santa Cruz Islands). Make sure with the officials in Noro that officials are on site in the other recommended ports of entry, prior to venturing there.
There is a new marina project underway here (started Nov. 2024 - expected completion ~2028) and mooring buoys and some associated services are available for visiting yachts.
The new entry markers are available on Navionics (entry depth about 5 m).

This can be quite a windy bay.
In the middle of the bay are big bommies and rocks and it’s hard to get the anchor up again from 15 - 20 m. See Docking for recommended anchoring spots and mooring info.
