For full details on clearing into and out of the Solomons see Formalities.
This is a recommended Port of Entry/Exit for yachts - as is Taro (Choiseul Island) and Lata (Santa Cruz Islands). Make sure with the officials in Noro that officials are on site in the other recommended ports of entry, prior to venturing there.
All the officials for clearing in and out are based at the new Port Noro Marina (Customs, Immigration, Health and Quarantine).
Yachts are asked to contact Immigration with their ETA in advance of arrival: Contact Noro Port Immigration Officer – BiliGuporo@gmail.com
It has been reported by cruisers that Noro is now the preferred port of entry into the Western Province, as Gizo has been experiencing reports of theft and the Immigration officer is extremely uncooperative and rarely available.
The Immigration officer at Noro is the most senior in the Solomon Islands.
Advice is to begin to check in early as it takes most of the day and is a lengthy process.
Health, Biosecurity and Customs will probably come out to your boat. Immigration we need to be visited in their offices.
There are no SIMA fees charged here.
