Description:

Located on the southern coast, this deep bay lies approximately 25NM west of Ponce. The town is surrounded by the largest remaining tract of tropical dry coastal forest in the world and also the Punta Ballena Reserve mangrove forest.

The company town of Ensenada, on the west side of the bay, is reported to be interesting as a time capsule. Students of the 19th-century industry will enjoy the ruins of a late-model sugar mill.
