Kimbe - Immigration

Oct 01, 2018

Description:

A useful stop midway between Rabaul and Madang. Kimbe is the capital of West New Britain and is the 3rd largest port in PNG.

Cruisers should anchor in this area with caution following an armed attack and robbery on cruisers in Ndawa Bay, near to the village of Bulu Dabba in August 2012 (see report adjacent). Local police are said to have little interest in cruiser security.

Position:

05° 32'S, 150° 09'E (off the town)
