It’s convenient to flag down taxiboats (two kina) to town as the pass (between Buka Island and Bougainville Island) can be rough with current and traffic.
In Buka town PMVs (public motor vehicles) cost just one kina in the vicinity of Buka.
Taxis cost about 10 kina in the town area.
