Voltage: 220 V
Frequency: 50 Hz
Electricity in Madeira comes from hydro-electric, therefore it is very cheap.
Fuel:
Fuel berths at Calheta, Funchal, Quinta do Lorde and Porto Santo. Payment by card is not always accepted when buying fuel.
Note: Diesel is gasoleo, and, petrol is gasolina.
Water:
The water quality is very high and is widely available, tap water is safe to drink.
LPG:
Propane is not available, but nearly all types of bottles can be re-filled with butane.
Camping Gaz bottles are available and most marinas provide an exchange service.
Getting Work Done:
There are travel lifts at Funchal and Quinta do Lorde and Porto Santo. Most of the marinas offer repair facilities with extensive facilities at Funchal.
There are chandleries at Funchal, Quinta do Lorde and Porto Santo.
Spares/Parts:
There are chandleries in most marinas/ports except Porto Santo and Calheta. It is better to buy parts from within Europe to avoid high admin charges (or ask a friend flying in to bring spares in their luggage).
Provisions:
Out of town supermarkets are becoming more common, although basic provisions can be found in the small towns and villages. Funchal has the best general town shopping area.
