Puerto Quetzal - Clearance

Jun 01, 2017

For full details on clearing into and out of Guatemala, including fees and regulations, see noonsite's Guatemala Formalities.

Probably because this is a commercial port and does not cater for pleasure yachts, charges are significantly higher here for clearance than in other Guatemala ports of entry.

Port Control should be contacted on VHF Channel 16 for instruction on where to berth for clearance. You need to contact Port Control at the sea buoy to get permission to enter.

It is possible to undertake all clearance procedures at your berth in the marina. Immigration, Customs and the Port Captain will visit your boat.

Latest reported fees here for clearing in were $280, including customs, immigration and port captain's charges. Clearing out costs a further $100, and if you want the marina to assist with the paperwork, it's another $50.

Payment in cash - a receipt will be given.
