This is a good port for crew changes. There are several bus companies providing a daily service to Punta Arenas.
There is a small airport just outside the town which has services to Punta Arenas, Balmaceda-Coyhaique, Puerto Montt, Temuco and Concepcion.
The Navimag ferry sails regularly to Puerto Montt.
