Where is Anegada?

Anegada is the northernmost of the British Virgin Islands. It lies approximately 24 kms (15 miles) north of Virgin Gorda.

It is a flat island, formed from coral and limestone, its highest point being only 28 feet above sea level. It is best known for its miles of white sand beaches, but it also has large salt ponds which cover much of the west end of the island.

Cruiser Highlights for Anegada:

A totally unspoiled island and well worth a visit, even if it is just for their famous lobster dinner. The island is also surrounded by striking reefs, underwater caves, tunnel formations and age-old shipwrecks, making it a popular spot for snorkelers and divers.

Security:

Dinghy and outboard thefts continue to be a problem. Be sure to lift and chain and lock your dinghy and outboard at night when at anchor or on a mooring and even in remote and seemingly isolated locations. Also when going ashore, ensure that your dinghy and outboard are securely locked and do not leave any belongings in the dinghy.  For more information, see the Caribbean Safety and Security Net (CSSN) reports for the British Virgin Islands.

Position - moorings:

18° 43'21"N, 064° 23'08"W
