Iate Clube Porto Belo has good facilities, however, due to the growth of the market for large cruisers, it lacks complimentary moorings.
Only a few buoys remain outside the harbor entrance.
There is free anchoring anywhere in the bay.
Cruisers report on the pervading smell of fish in the air and water.
There is no fuel available here.
The only option for refueling is at Marina Atlântida, less than 1 nautical mile southwest of the ICPB. It's located on the Beboto River, a narrow channel that, at the average water level, is only 1.1 meters deep, so refueling must be done in a dinghy after anchoring some distance from the harbor entrance. The tide tables are of little use here. They have regular but good-quality gasoline and diesel, as well as lubricants, some spare parts like belts, etc., and a minibar. Daytime hours only. The marina has another location further west with services exclusively for jet skis and personal watercraft.
Cruisers have reported feeling very safe walking around the neighboring areas. There is a good mechanic at the yacht club and nearby repair facilities.
Provisioning is fair here.

The Iate clube Porto Belo is quite expensive. For our 44 ft yacht they quoted us RS 660 per day (the equivalent of € 220).
A good alternative is Itajai which is 15 miles north. It is not mentioned in any pilot book. The pontoons for the Volvo Ocean Race stopover are here. There are basic facilities (power, water). The berths are in the middle of town. Good provisioning, good connections by bus to other places in Brazil. In September 2014 we payed RS 1 per foot per day. First two days free. Pleasant city, lovely people. We feel very welcome here.
