Explore: Niteroi
General Info
Niterói is separated from Rio by the Guanabara Bay. It is a 20 minute ferry ride across the bay to the city.
Clearance
Be sure to clear out of Rio and into Niterói correctly when moving across the Bay.
There does not seem to be a Capitania in Niteroi. Take the ferry to Square XV and keep right upon exiting the terminal to find the Capitania in a pedestrian area next to the maritime tribunal. They are open until 5 pm.

Docking
The yacht club marinas here are generally less expensive and less crowded.
The Clube Naval Charitas is a very friendly club and a popular choice here if not needing to be close to downtown Rio. From the club, it is a very easy walk to the fast ferry (weekdays only), which takes you into Rio (cheaper outside rush-hour). The Club can assist with most things.
Diesel at available at the Iate Clube Brasileiro, across from Charitas.
