Baia da Ilha Grande - Docking

There is almost an unlimited number of anchorages around this bay and the island of Ilha Grande.

Here are some of the anchorages where other services are available:-

  • Enseada das Palmas (Ilha Grande) - water at the hotel building.
  • Enseada do Abraao (Ilha Grande) - a fishing village with supermarket, bakery, fuel, pharmacy, telephones, and internet. Ferry to the mainland.
  • Saco do Ceu (Ilha Grande) - a small fishing village where you can buy fish and some fruit.
  • Ilha de Macacos (Ilha Grande) - fishing boats used as floating bars and which provide all types of seafood.
  • Enseada do Sitio Forte (Ilha Grande) - A beach kiosk with beer and seafood - a yachtie hangout!
  • Angra dos Reis (mainland shore) - See separate entry, Angra dos Reis
  • Marina Porto Frade (mainland shore) - moor at the wharf (max. draft 2.5m) or anchor outside and dinghy ashore. Excellent facilities and chandlery. VHF 16 "Marina Porto Frade'.
  • Saco do Tarituba (mainland shore) - The village has bars and restaurants and basic provisions.
  • Ilha do Cedro - Anchorage on the NW side of the island. Good beach with a friendly bar/restaurant. Freshwater is available.
  • Paraty (mainland shore) - There are several marinas here but most have limited draft (typically 1.8m). The town has all requirements (fuel, water, LPG, several chandleries, provisions, banks, internet cafes, post office, hospital, and pharmacies).
