Policia Federal (immigration) and Customs are at the port entrance in the commercial part of the harbor. This is a 20-minute bus ride (on bus 502 towards Itaqui). Skippers need to clear in and out here.
You need hard hats to walk through the port, but the locals help, either by giving you hats or arranging transport.
The Capitania do Portos is located in town, in the historical center, 30 minutes drive away.
